Spirit of the Game
International Games (IG) is one of the main sport events organised by Nanyang Technological University Student's Union (NTUSU) for all NTU students as well as NTU Alumni. It is considered as the Mini-Olympic of NTU. The purpose of this event is to foster the solidarity and understanding among NTU students through the sporting spirit.
IG was first initiated and organised by the Vietnamese International Undergraduate Committee (IUC). Realizing its significance, in 2006 Student Affairs Office (SAO) and NTU Students' Union decided to transform it to an annual event here.
Last year NTUSU IG was held in Febuary 2009. There were 9 different contingents ( Singapore, China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Vietnam, Kazakhstan and Union) participating 15 games (Badminton, Tennis, Table Tennis, Basketball, Football, Volley ball, Chinese Chess, International Chess, Scrabble, Othello, Swimming, Athletic, Conterstrike, DOTA, Pool), together creating a wonderful experience.
IG 2010 committee is planning to conduct a Sports Fair at NTU Sports and Recreation Center. It is planned to have famous sports companies and the sports vendors to come to the fair and set up booth for selling their merchandise at discounted prices.
In addition, the International Games committee has come up with a new sub-event, which is a photography competition. The main objective of having a sub-event is to spread the awareness of friendship in sports to a larger audience.
NTUSU International Games 2010 Logo

The International Games 2010 logo is modified version from IG 2008 logo by Nathan, a second year ADM student which was previously designed by Daniel Perdana Simandjuntak, a second year Economics student. He was inspired by the Singapore as well as NTU symbol, a Lion. It symbolizes strength and competition-the two aspects of sport.
NTUSU International Games Motto
Aestus Amicus Concordis - a Latin phrase meaning Passion Friendship Unity is initiated by Dimas Harry Priawan, International Games 2008 Chairperson. This motto is symbolized on the three triangular strokes on the lion's ear, which is designed by Michael, International Games 2008 Publicity Sub-Committee. This also serves as our aims, which are:
Aestus, Passion
International Games serves as a medium for NTU students to develop their passion towards sports and recreational games. At the same time, International Games also promotes the spirit of sportsmanship.
Amicus, Friendship
International Games promotes solidarity and friendship among students from different countries and backgrounds.
Concordis, Unity
International Games strengthens bonds amongst students in NTU. It serves as a bridge between local and international students
